Can an auto insurance company deny coverage if the driver doesn't wear seat belts?

Say if you let your friend drive your car and he get's in an accident. Can you auto insurance company say that the insurance coverage didn't count because your friend didn't have seat belts on? Thx.

Yes, alot of them now have a clause in the policy stating if you have no seatbelt on they are not liable....it sucks but they are doing it.

I know it is safer to wear a seatbelt but I hate mine too.
