What type of car/booster seat should my 5 year old be using?

Should he be in the full Car Seat or just the booster seat. hes 5yrs an over 40 pounds, he pretty tall for just being 5.... thank you

I'd have him in a Britax Frontier 85. It'll keep him harnessed until he's 85 lbs or until he outgrows the height of the harnesses (which will happen well before he's 85 lbs) and it will convert to a booster after that. Studies have proven that 5 pt harnesses are MUCH safer than a booster in a crash. It's a wonderful seat! I LOVE my Britax seats and couldn't be happier with them.
